A classic Victorian diminutive writing slope with figured walnut veneer and tunbridge-wear banding inlay. Opens to reveal a sloped writing surface covered with velvet matting that has blind-tooling decor. Both slopes lift up to expose underneath storage space, while at one end there is an additional inkwell compartment and quill/pen slot.
Condition is fair, with a large crack running along the lid, this was likely the result of the carcass board drying and shrinking. The keyhole is missing an escutcheon, likely a piece of bone or veneer. See pictures for general conditions preview. .
