An early 20th C wooden shield with the coat of arms for Wycliffe Hall, Oxford. 
Wycliffe Hall was established by the Anglican Church in 1877, and  specializes in theology and religion- particularly the training of new Anglican priests. 
The motto is displayed on an open book:  "Via Veritas Vita," latin for "The Way, the Truth, and the Life".
Condition is fair, with some restoration evident.
