A religious diorama that uses a combination of silk needlework, watercolour and cut paper.
This outstanding work of art is complemented by its period gilded gesso frame. 
Portrays a biblical scene, likely the Adoration of the Shepherds or similar allegory representing the birth of Jesus. The bright silk threads create a textured affect, while watercolour is used to embellish the details of the faces. The Cross is wrapped in dark wire.
