A painted footstool with inscription indicating the year 1840. Each side displays stylized tulips, Thunderneath has been painted brown, as was typical with pieces from the period. The top image shows a grandmother, seated in her rocking chair, giving needlework lessons to her granddaughter. The inscription reads: "Grandma Helping the Granddaughter… made in 1840”.
