A marquetry panel that uses a variety of wood and stain to portray a man wandering through the countryside playing an accordion. The mosaic pattern around the border has the appearance of “Tunbridge-wear” and complements the image within.

An inscription found on the reverse indicates the item was purchased in Sicily, Italy in during a Mediterranean cruise, 1937.

A great example of Italian craftsmanship, and would look great hung as-is, or could even be used as a panel in a cupboard/cabinet.
