Edwardian pewter quart jug from The Prince of Guinea, a pub in Gillingham, Kent.
Inscription reads:
J. J. Knight
The Prince of Guinea
Gillingham
Research indicates J.J. Knight was John James Knight, the landlord and licensee of the pub around 1913. The Prince of Guinea was a ‘beer only’ pub on 49 Medway Road, Gillingham. It was later acquired by Ind Coope & Co breweries in 1931.
