Edward J. Cherry, FRSA was born in England in 1886. He was an etcher and worked in England until sometime after 1910. He moved to Vancouver in
1915 and married Frances Heskett on August 15th. He then moved to Victoria, BC, however soon joined the 103rd Battalion to serve in WW1. He was wounded during the war, suffering neurasthenia from a gas attack, and subsequently spent time convalescing in England.
Once fit enough to move back to canada, he returned to Victoria to continue his career as an artist.
