Rustic, 18thC bureau of Goliath proportions. This one of a kind piece is a great example of bespoke provincial furniture: made when estates would create their own furniture based on the need and materials on hand.

Bureau is of two parts: the top is part sloped writing desk/ part Bible box. Inside are numerous cubbyholes, shelves, and a secret pistol well. The desk sits on the base cupboard that opens up to reveal a regular and a double drawer, providing an enormous amount of storage.

The whole unit is put together using classic dovetails and mortise & tenor joints.

A bureau providing the best of antique furniture: a truly unique and highly utilitarian piece that fits into a both modern & antique decor styles.a real testament to British cabinet work.
